Busy yet lazy

Posted in Miscellaneous by Andy

Classes finally started, 3 this semester, and that will be it. After this, I will be done with my graduate school. How nice. Tonight I actually have a lot of things to do, but I just don’t feel like doing it. So lazy. Just browsing and listening to old Chinese music and talking to Ruth online. Those songs are so old I don’t even know how I got them. Maybe those songs were from when I was still in junior high school. Wow, so many years ago.

I went biking with David, it was pretty nice, not hot and I only stopped twice for the whole thing, much better than last time. Still there are a lot of room for improvement, but I am gonna take it slow, now that I have a bike already, and a nice one too, I am gonna make this a habit of mine. I don’t really have any habit right now. I was into photography, but got so busy no time to travel and no money to buy equipments so almost gave it up.

Today at work we finally officially started the Gen2 project, it’s a project to develop the next generation desktop image. If you don’t know what I mean, don’t bother to wonder, not anything that would interest you probably. But I got a lot of tasks to do from now till first quarter of 2006. Ah it’s nice to have work to do, at least I don’t have to worry about getting lay off or something, but I think I will be so busy during this time.

Food, food! I went to Catfish Hole with David and Jac this evening for dinner. Haven’t been there for a long time. I remember I use to go there with Ruth, she likes that place a lot. Haven’t been there ever since she left…Ai… :-( But tonight it was quite expensive, almost $10 for me including tips. Wow! Now the gas price is rising and the restaurant is also charging people, how nice! It’s just stupid cat fish, how can it worth $10 dollars… Mmmm…but it was good though. 8-)~~~

Trek 8500

Yesterday afternoon suddenly got an email from James saying that Caleb is selling his bike for $300. I just couldn’t believe it at first, I mean, the top of the line Trek hardtail, the new model would cost around $2,310, how could he just wanna sell it for $300. It’s a 2001 model, has some scratches and dings on its body, but mechanically it works great. I have ridden it two or three times, the bike is extremely light, handles very well, and it looks really cool too.

In the beginning I was hesitating because the deal just seems too good to be true, I was asking around and see of the bike has any potential problems and so on. Then I thought it’s Caleb I am dealing with, he’s not a guy that would cheat me or anything. So I decided to get it, and now I officially have a bike, and a nice one too!

Imagine

Imagine – John Lennon

Imagine there’s no heaven,
It’s easy if you try,
No hell below us,
Above us only sky,
Imagine all the people
living for today…

Imagine there’s no countries,
It isn’t hard to do,
Nothing to kill or die for,
No religion too,
Imagine all the people
living life in peace…

Imagine no possessions,
I wonder if you can,
No need for greed or hunger,
A brotherhood of man,
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world…

You may say I’m a dreamer,
but I’m not the only one,
I hope some day you’ll join us,
And the world will live as one.

When I first heard this song, I had this sensation of flying over a world of wheat field, so relaxed yet cannot see where I am going. Later on when I looked up the lyrics, I just realized it’s a hippie song. Make sense though, from John Lennon, probably written in the 60-70s, or maybe even for one of the anti-war movements…

Oh well, I know what you are gonna tell me, but it’s a nice song…
